Recommind Delivers Latest Enterprise Search Release With Enhancements for Microsoft® SharePoint®

MindServer Search™ 7.0 Helps Enterprises Maximize Value of Technology Investments by Dramatically Increasing Relevance and Accuracy of Search Results

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(May 11, 2010) - Recommind, the leader in search-powered information risk management, today announced the availability of MindServer Search™ 7.0, the latest version of its flagship enterprise search product. By enhancing the reach, accuracy and overall functionality of the industry's most powerful enterprise search platform, Recommind is enabling enterprises to deliver more relevant search results to their information workers and maximize investments in tools such as Microsoft SharePoint.

Built on Recommind's powerful CORE™ platform (Context Optimized Relevancy Engine), MindServer Search 7.0 adds powerful new Web 2.0 collaborative features such as social tagging, delivery of content via RSS, a brand new Web-based administration client designed to simplify maintenance and accelerate deployments and an intuitive and more easily customizable user interface. MindServer Search 7.0 supports search for content in SharePoint 2003, 2007 and 2010, enabling greater ROI out of current and planned SharePoint investments.

As adoption and usage of SharePoint increases globally, the need to augment the platform with powerful search technology is paramount. When implemented independently of each other, both SharePoint and MindServer Search provide enormous benefits to the enterprise from a collaboration and information-access perspective. When the solutions are combined -- MindServer Search integrates seamlessly with every leading content management system -- enterprises can make all their data sources, regardless of location, language or file type, searchable and shareable from one central location.

"Many search platforms oversimplify our information-access challenge. What sets Recommind's CORE Platform apart is its ability to respect the relationship between the multiple dimensions of our information: the text, the people involved and the related project or matter -- which sets the context around the information," said Oz Benamram, Chief Knowledge Officer, White & Case LLP. "The latest version of MindServer Search shows Recommind's commitment to delivering an enterprise search product that evolves along with our growing information access needs. Not only has Recommind increased the overall functionality of the core platform, but they will enable us to drive more value out of our investment in tools like SharePoint and our knowledge repositories."

In addition to improving the overall reach of SharePoint, MindServer Search 7.0 provides customers with several next-generation features. Shared tagging allows comments on results to be made available to other search users. Users can set their RSS aggregator clients to regularly send queries to MindServer Search and receive results back in RSS format. A newly redesigned search UI provides a more intuitive navigation experience for users and a restructured framework so that MindServer Search can be completely rebranded and customized as needed. Additional enhancements include a new administration console and a relevancy console with enhanced tuning and reporting capabilities.

"More and more organizations are switching to Recommind because they see the value of adding advanced search technology to the applications they use every day," said Robert Tennant, CEO, Recommind. "Recommind's innovative search-powered solutions help users find content in context, whether they're managing millions of transactions a day in a B2B online retail environment or analyzing documents under urgent eDiscovery deadlines. Our deep search experience is built into the core of all our products. It's what keeps Recommind customers ahead of the competition."

MindServer Search 7.0 is built on Recommind's CORE platform, a fully automated information management layer which seamlessly and securely integrates structured and unstructured data inside and outside of enterprise networks. The CORE platform dramatically improves access to a wide variety of information across large, distributed enterprises and returns results in context for more accurate understanding and "actionability" of the information. CORE uses powerful concept-based search technology to connect relevant information in document management, records management, portal and e-mail systems and myriad other applications and databases with the users who need it.
