Dewey Ballantine Selects Recommind for Firm-Wide Information Access
San Francisco, California, April 26, 2006 – Recommind, the leading provider of search and automated categorization systems for law firms, announced today that top law firm Dewey Ballantine LLP has selected Recommind’s MindServer Legal Enterprise Search (tm) and MindServer Legal Matters & Expertise (tm) to power their internal search functions. Recommind’s MindServer platform will enable Dewey Ballantine’s lawyers to quickly and easily access information from 12 locations worldwide.
“Dewey Ballantine, driven by the principle of ‘One voice, one vision, one firm’, is excited to offer our attorneys and staff ‘one search’ with Recommind’s MindServer Legal,” said Eva Steiner, CIO, Dewey Ballantine. “Recommind will enable us to search across all of our 12 offices simultaneously, allowing our attorneys to benefit from the accumulated knowledge of the firm. Our lawyers will get one complete view of matters, deals, and litigations, all through one easy and accurate search experience.”
Recommind’s MindServer Legal Enterprise Search utilizes powerful concept searching based on proprietary, patented algorithms that enable users to find all documents related to their search queries, without having to sift through irrelevant results. Users can then use MindServer’s Smart Filtering tm technology to instantly narrow results by selecting authors, clients, industries, offices and/or other customized metadata filters from the results list. MindServer Legal Enterprise Search integrates with document management, records management, portal, and e-mail systems to provide a single, central access point to a firm’s critical knowledge.
MindServer Legal Matters & Expertise builds on MindServer Legal Enterprise Search to provide a complete firm-wide view of matters, deals, cases, and the expertise contained within the firm. By tapping into time & billing, CRM, intranet, internal firm databases and other information systems, MindServer Legal Matters & Expertise is able to provide a complete and comprehensive picture for the lawyer. Now not only are users able to find documents related to their search, but they can also find related people and matters within the firm, all from one simple search box.
The MindServer Legal product suite substantially reduces the time and costs involved in doing legal research, all while improving the quality of work product delivered to the end client. In today’s increasingly competitive environment, law firms are looking for better and more efficient ways to serve their clients; the MindServer Legal suite of products helps them achieve this.
"We are very pleased to add Dewey Ballantine to our rapidly expanding customer list,” said Robert Tennant, Recommind’s CEO. “The information needs of law firms are very complex and require specialized technology, which Recommind is delivering through its MindServer Legal product suite.
