Chief Technology Officer (Co-Founder)

Jan Puzicha

An expert in real-time information optimization and statistical modeling, Dr. Jan Puzicha co-founded Recommind in 2001. His strengths lie in his ability to turn mathematical models and algorithms into working industrial products–and for over 15 years he has successfully translated abstract research into Recommind’s highly scalable product line. Previously, he held a research fellow position in the Computer Science Department at UC Berkeley, where he worked on machine learning problems and cutting-edge research in graphical models and computer vision. Jan holds a Ph.D. from the University of Bonn, where he graduated with honors.

Senior Vice President of Field Operations

Steve Kennedy

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in worldwide sales, field operations, and marketing, Steve Kennedy has successfully spearheaded growth for publicly traded and private companies with revenues up to $6 billion in annual sales. Prior to joining Recommind, Steve was Worldwide President of Data Protection and Availability Software at EMC, where he was responsible for global field organizations representing archiving, eDiscovery and data protection software and services. Prior to EMC, Steve served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Zantaz, where he led the business to achieve an almost 900 percent increase in revenues. Kennedy is Scottish by birth and holds a B.A. in Business Studies from Portsmouth University, England.

Managing Director, UK

Simon Price

Simon Price has been managing Recommind’s UK operations from our London office for over 10 years. Simon has over 15 years of experience in sales and management within the software industry, managing relationships with many of the world’s largest professional service and corporate organizations. Simon is responsible for overseeing the expansion of our London operations and the support of our growing UK and European client base. Prior to joining Recommind, Simon served as a Sales Manager at Aderant Inc., a leading provider in finance and practice management solutions and previously as Sales & Marketing Manager with Chambers & Partners publishers. He holds a BSc Honours degree in Marketing from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the United Kingdom.

Simon Price

Hartwig Laute

Based in Bonn, Germany, Hartwig Laute has overseen the DACH region for Recommind for more than 15 years. He has helped make DACH one of the most successful regions worldwide for Recommind with a focus on both eDiscovery and enterprise search. Prior to joining Recommind, Hartwig was Chief Operating Officer with BauGrund, a German urban development company, where he had previously held senior positions in a variety of functions. Hartwig Laute has studied business administration with a focus on finance and organization in Siegen, Bochum and Växjö (Sweden) and graduated with honors.

Keith Bernstein

For over 8 years, Keith Bernstein has helped establish Recommind as a leader in eDiscovery. He has been in eDiscovery over the last 15 years creating solutions and customer success also working at Daticon and Zantaz/Autonomy. At Recommind Keith was involved with the original rollout of the Axcelerate platform and Predictive Coding as the Vice President of the Consulting and Support services. As the eDiscovery market evolved he was responsible for leading the addition of Cloud Services within Recommind. Currently he is the Vice President of Customer Support and Training. He is based in Boston and holds a Masters Degree in Software Engineering from Brandeis University.

Michael Donovan

Michael Donovan has over 25 years’ experience in the legal industry, both as a practicing lawyer in New York, and as a leader in eDiscovery technology and practice. Michael leads our Axcelerate Cloud and Perceptiv OnDemand Service Delivery teams. In this role, Michael’s experience and expertise is routinely shared with clients as they seek to address their eDiscovery challenges in creative and cost effective ways. Prior to joining Recommind, Michael practiced in complex civil litigation in New York, with Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and other firms. In addition, Michael was the lead eDiscovery consultant at O’Melveny & Myers LLP. Michael received his law degree from Notre Dame Law School at the University of Notre Dame.

Joe Federline

Joe Federline has over 10 years of project management experience and has been dedicated to effective eDiscovery project management techniques since 2005. Joe has hands on expertise in Recommind’s Predictive Coding technology, and has been instrumental in the development of workflows that utilize Recommind’s core features. Joe is responsible for developing and expanding the services delivery strategies that help our customers meet their eDiscovery goals in the OnDemand environment. Prior to joining Recommind, Joe led teams of project managers at Autonomy ZANTAZ, where he built a portfolio of over 50 projects and $2M in annual revenue within a single client. Joe has been with Recommind since 2009, and holds a B.A. from Providence College.

David Baskin

With 20 years of eDiscovery experience, David has been a leader for multiple successful eDiscovery companies. David has been part of the leadership team at Recommind since 2007. Over these past 9 years, he has led product strategy, product management, product marketing, product design and the Axcelerate SaaS/Cloud business. Currently, David is Vice President of the eDiscovery Field Strategy Team for OpenText’s Discovery business unit, where he focuses on sales enablement, pricing and strategy for all global eDiscovery product offerings. David holds degrees in Accounting and Information Systems, as well as an MBA from Babson College.

Ellery Dyer

A 25 year veteran of software sales innovation, Ellery Dyer has been a pioneer in the eDiscovery market. His eDiscovery experience began with the development of a custom litigation support application for the Orange County Treasury bankruptcy in 1995. Ellery played a variety of leadership roles in the development, marketing, and sales of the ZANTAZ Introspect eDiscovery application from its inception. He has been directly involved in the planning and execution of myriad discovery solutions ranging from straightforward to very complex. Since 2009 Ellery has filled various leadership roles at Recommind including VP of Channel Development and his current position as VP of Sales, US Eastern region. He holds a degree is Photographic Science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Kathy Andrews

Global manager with over 20 years of experience supporting diversified teams in the financial services industry with a focus on key risk indicators and regulatory requirements. Active participant in ISDA industry initiatives leading and participating in Committees, Working Groups and AGMs. Known for strong management skills and able to implement efficiencies for operational functions. Joined Recommind in January 2016 as North America Relationship Manager to increase NA presence as well as implement client forums and industry participation to support data digitization. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of South Florida in 1993.

Jennifer Easley

Jennifer has over 10 years of eDiscovery experience, both in Client Services and Product Management, and has been with Recommind (now OpenText) since 2008. She is currently head of the Product Management Office at Recommind where she is responsible for coordinating communications and activities with internal and external stakeholders for Recommind products, as well as for the client product interaction program for eDiscovery clients. Prior to joining Recommind, Jennifer led a team of project managers at Ibis Consulting/Pitney Bowes Management Services where she was responsible for multiple litigation projects for legal and corporate clients. Allan Long

Allan Long is the Director of Solution Consulting with over 18 years of Information Technology experience and joined Recommind in 2009. He specializes in the implementation of advanced software applications to improve efficiency in the eDiscovery process and has worked for international companies such as Xerox, Ricoh and Thomson Reuters. As the Director of Solution Consulting, Allan leads a national team that helps influence strategic consensus on how to deliver the greatest value of Big Data analytics, business intelligence and advanced machine learning technologies. Allan holds many certifications with Microsoft, Cisco and Six Sigma. He is regularly communicating with leadership regarding the direction of litigation technology and Big Data initiatives facing law firms and corporations today.

Christine Hutcheson

Christine Hutcheson has over 10 years of experience at Recommind in a wide variety of marketing roles, from demand generation to PR to brand management. At OpenText, she is leading the Global Marketing Programs team to help drive awareness of Recommind’s solutions within the OpenText family. Prior to Recommind, Christine worked at Sun Microsystems in a start-up environment within the SunLabs group. Christine is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and Singapore.
